Free Tummy Tuck Recovery Tips

Follow the advice of your surgeon and his staff and your tummy tuck recovery pain and trouble free. The day after your tummy tuck surgery you will begin to feel you have more energy as the effects of the anesthesia begin to wear off. At this point you must remember that you have to take things easy, you have just had major surgery. You may feel some pain the scale of this pain varies from patient to patient if the pain is uncomfortable don't suffer in silence ask for some pain relief medication to ease the discomfort.
After 24 hours it is fine to shower and you will probably be encouraged to do so. You should remove your dressing and replace it with a clean dressing. One important note though you will probably have steri-strips covering your wound / stitches it's important that you don't interfere with these. Over the next week or so these steri - strips will start to peel of their own accord. If needs be you can trim the peeled edges with a small pair of scissors but you should not pull them if they are still attached.

If you had the type of surgery that required drains to be fitted you should hang the drains securely while you are taking a shower. These drains are usually kept in place for around 7-21 days and should only be removed under medical supervision. They may be removed by surgeon together or he may decide to leave one in a bit longer than the other. This will depend on the amount of fluid that is being passed. The removal process is quite a simple process and is normally pain free with patient feeling a slight tingling sensation when the tubes are removed.
The drains are small clear tubes that are normally inserted either side of the stomach area and are connected to small bulb shaped drainage reservoirs. Your surgeon or his staff will show you how to empty the drains and measure the output from each drain. This should be done 2-3 times daily although the drains may feel a bit uncomfortable they are actually quite important. There job is to drain any excess fluid that builds behind abdominal incisions you had during surgery.
Your doctor or surgeon will place weight restrictions on you for the first couple of weeks after your surgery and may limit you to lifting no more than 3lbs in weight. Again it is very important to follow these instructions it is not worth risking bursting your sutures just to lift something yourself.
On a final note it is very important that when you bathe you make sure that everything is clean and sterile don't use any old towels or sponges buy new ones that you know are clean. This way you will minimize any risks of getting an infection. Following these simple steps and your surgeon's advice will go a long way to ensuring your tummy tuck recovery is as quick and pain free as possible.

Guide to Bringing Sexy Back For The New Mom

I understand the frumpy feel of being a new mom. I have definitely been there and done that! For some reason, in our heads once we have a baby we forget about the fact that we are women and we need to nurture and celebrate that we are still a woman.
I learned a long time ago that in life it is the little things that make the biggest difference. This is especially true in all things pertaining to motherhood. The little things do not have to cost a fortune. There is no need for them to; they are just simple things that make a big difference. This is a list of tips you can implement to help you feel sexy and more confident.
My first tip for you is to create a daily ritual to care for yourself. This is time for you, time to take a shower, put lotion on and do your hair. While you can do this ritual anytime during the day, try to do it in the morning. Even if it is only a ten minute habit, it can transform the way you feel and help get your ready to face the day. Really nothing can make you feel sexier than being clean, fresh and soft. These are simple little things that can make all the difference in the world.
Tip number two: Go buy a sexy nightie.

I know you look in the mirror and go 'yeah right'! But I am serious; it doesn't have to be see through or skimpy, just cute or sexy. Come on, close your eyes and imagine the feel of the cool clean silk sliding over your body in your favorite color, maybe red! As a new mom, you will probably be spending a lot of time in your nightie in those initial days and weeks, so the next time you are picking up diapers make sure that you pick up a sexy nightie for you.
Tip number three: Exercise and get fresh air. Yes, it may seem hard in a sleep deprived state to even contemplate exercise but I promise you that you will feel better. Start out slowly, since you really need to focus on conserving your energy to speed your recovery from labor and the birth. Contrary to popular belief, complex, difficult and expensive programs have not been shown to be any more effective than a simple walking program for general conditioning. A simple walking routine in the early weeks and months after labor can positively affect a range of problems from depression and anxiety, to diabetes and constipation.
Tip number four: Wear perfume or scented lotions. Simple floral or citrus scents can really enliven the senses. Warm scents such as vanilla are comforting and soothing. Wearing perfume or scented lotions not only wake up your senses, but your husband's as well! There is undoubtedly a strong connection between feeling good and smelling good. Smell can definitely help 'bring the sexy back' and put a little energy back in your relationship.
Tip number five: Have lunch or dinner with friends. Part of bringing sexy back means remembering what it is like to be a woman and there is no better way than chill with your friends and have girl talk. Even if your friends don't have kids, hanging out with them for a while is a nice way to focus on you as a woman and not you as a mom.
There are so many simple things that you can do each and everyday to help reconnect with the sexy side of you. These are just a few ideas that I wanted to share to help you embrace each day as a new mom.

So replace these bad fats with unsaturated fat and essential fatty acids (EFAs) and these good fats will keep your body fat and fat related diseases down. But do take your fats in moderation as after all, they are still calorie laden.

6) Food Portion - Decide how much you want to eat at each meal and then keep to it and do not eat anymore when that portion is consumed. Eat slowly to let your body signal to your brain that you are full. This usually takes about 20 minutes. Extra food means extra and calories mean extra body fat if the food is not converted to energy. So with less calories consumed, you will not gain extra body fat but steadily reduce your weight. But never skip meals or starve if you want to reduce weight healthily.
7) Avoid Canned Or Boxed Food - These food are usually high in trans fat, sodium, sugar and simple carbs all of which will help you to gain weight and body fat.
8) Eat Often - By eating often, say at every 3 hourly intervals, your body will think that food is abundant and therefore less likely to store body fat for emergency such as a famine. But do bear in mind to keep the portion small so as not to consume more calories than you expand.
9) Get 8 Hours Sleep - Research after research has shown that people with less sleep are more prone to being fat.
10) Do Not Skip Meals - Skipping meals will slow your metabolism and forcing your body to use your muscles for energy instead of your body fat. This is a vicious cycle, the less muscle you have, the more your metabolism slows down.
There you are. By following this step by step guide, not only will you reduce weight but will lose your body fat forever.

Free Fashion Model's Diet Plan Tips

Have you ever wondered how the so-called super models manage to get in such good shape and stay trim, even after having a family? Fashion models depend on their slim figures for their livelihood, so it's imperative that they always look good. Don't worry, I'm not suggesting that you should embark on a diet of leaves and nuts. I'm not an advocate of the size zero, but I'm sure you'll find it interesting to know what sort of diet a fashion model would choose.
The Fashion Models Diet Plan A favourite way for models to look good is to "Cleanse" or "Fast". This is not a complete starvation diet, as it will include the intake of soups and fruit juices over a 3 to7 day period. It is more of a detox routine and is gernerally only carried out once or twice a year. The benefits of this detox is to obviously rid the body of harmful toxins, such as preservatives and food additives together with inhaled smoke and fumes. It also gives the colon a chance to rid the digestive system of any fecal build up.

The results can be dramatic as the liver and kidneys are able to repair and replace damaged cells instead of continuing to rid the body of toxins. A typical "Cleanse" diet might consist of a combination of fresh carrots, celery, beet, spinach, apple, coconut, broth and juices. Citrus and tomato juices are too acidic to drink while fasting so these should be avoided. It's important to drink plenty of water during the detox and avoid consuming any unnecessary medications or supplements.
The advantages of a detox are weight loss, reduced body odour, shinier finger nails, stronger hair, reduced cellulite, a glowing complexion and more beautiful eyes. After the detox, the typical fashion model will then begin her normal eating habits, which to some people may appear to be a "real" diet.
However, it will simply be a healthy balanced diet, which might typically consist of the following: ---Breakfast (9am) One boiled egg with a slice of wholewheat bread A bowl of cereal with skimmed milk Black coffee Total 369 calories
---Lunch (12.30pm) Turkey salad with balsamic vinaigrette Cup of tea with skimmed milk Total 320 calories
---Early Evening Snack (4.30pm) Low fat Jell-O pudding Total 100 calories
---Dinner (8pm) Lean Cuisine chicken a l'orange with rice 2 slices of low fat cheddar cheese with wholewheat crackers Total 448 calories The total calorie intake for a typical day is 1237. The aim of the diet is to keep the daily calorie count below 1500.
This is a typical example of a fashion model's diet, which will also involve some form of aerobic exercises 3 times a week. So, as you can see it's not at all what you might have originally thought. It's just a sensible eating plan and a sensible exercise routine.
However, if even this diet seems a little too much to stomach, you could try a natural herbal diet remedy. Here are the top 5 tips that fashion models highly recommend for staying in trim.
1. Decrease your alcohol consumption. Alcohol suppresses the body's ability to burn fat.
2. Eat more Black Pepper, Ginger, Chile Peppers. Spicy food helps speed up the body's metabolism. 3. Increase your muscle mass. Muscle burns fat, so adding 5lbs of muscle will help you burn another 250 calories a day.
3. Increase your vitamin B and Calcium intake. The B-Vitamins give you more energy and increase your metabolism.
4. Drink More Water. A healthy, well-hydrated body is important to flush out toxins and aid in metabolising fats
5. Increase your intake of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Omega 3 fatty acids can help to balance blood sugar levels and control appetite.

Free Vitamins Usage Tips - Health Benefit

It has been conclusively proved that women who take a recommended doze of fifteen vitamin and mineral supplements during the last six months of pregnancy pass on health benefits to their newborns. What better gift can a mother give to her newborn! Vitamins play such an important part in our lives even before we are born! They support us throughout our lives, helping to make strong bones and muscles, build up stamina and protect us from diseases. But it is not always possible to get the full benefits of vitamins through the foods we consume! Often water soluble vitamins are destroyed or sublimated in the cooking process, or drowned by condiments or remain unabsorbed by the body for some reason.

Quite often pesticides destroy them. So how do we ensure that we get our full supply of vitamins, salts and trace minerals daily? Doctors and health advisors recommend a daily vitamin supplement; in any form to ensure that the body gets its necessary supply of vitamins. The vitamin supplements are recommended for all age groups and especially for those who are involved in physically demanding vocations or those with sedentary jobs in closed spaces that deprive them of natural light and exercise. Although there has been considerable research on vitamins, new benefits continue to be discovered. Many factors reduce the resistance of our body; the vitamins stand guard to protect us from health hazard, therefore the new wisdom dictates ’A vitamin supplement a day keeps the doctor away’!

Free Tips on Body Fat Transfer - Reabsorb about 60 Percent of the Fat Cells

Eventually, age catches up with all of us, especially in the face - the hollow cheeks, smile or frown lines and crow's feet are all readily apparent to people who see us. Rather than resign yourself to the inevitable, there may be a way to improve an aging face without the need for invasive surgery.
Fat Is Good
The answer is in something most of us have plenty of: fat cells. Body fat transfer takes your own fat cells from places where they're plentiful (thighs, abdomen), and uses them to plump up areas that need them, such as cheeks, chin and even hands. Autologous fat transplantation - or body fat transfer - is done on an outpatient basis. Both the donor site (where the fat comes from) and the treatment site (where it's going) receive local anesthetic and the patient is usually sedated. The fat is taken out with a needle and syringe and "purified" to remove excess fluid, then re-injected at the treatment site. If you have recently had liposuction, breast reduction or a similar procedure, the fat extracted at that time can be frozen for later injection.

Body fat transfer has the advantage over collagen injections in that there is no possibility of a person developing an allergy to his own fat cells. It is also less expensive than most cosmetic procedures, such as the insertion of implants. They are not suitable for large areas, however, and will lend a full, rounded, but not a muscular appearance. Recovery from body fat transfer is quick, as there has been no traumatic invasion of the body. Bruising will fade within a couple of days, and swelling and redness should disappear in a few weeks. Activity may be limited for a while.
Disadvantages of Body Fat Transfer
Sites where there is little motion, such as the cheeks, stay firm longer than sites where the muscles move a great deal, such as the lips. Fat can also be transferred to the buttocks, arms, calves or other areas. Some experts believe that if it is used as breast augmentation material, it may interfere with mammogram results, while other surgeons routinely use it for this purpose.
There is a drawback, however. The body will reabsorb about 60 percent of the cells almost immediately. While the surgeon will purposely overfill to counteract this, the absorption may continue up to 99 percent. More injections are necessary for lasting results. If, after a series of injections, the recipient site reaches the point of saturation, then results can last a lifetime, but this may or may not happen. Three years is average. New techniques aimed at lengthening the results of body fat transfer are being used very day, and soon a permanent method may be found.

Tummy Liposuction

Some people are incapable of losing weight, no matter what they do. For the majority of people this isn't a problem. By changing eating habits and working exercise time into your busy schedule, you can usually lose weight and fat. However, due to some medical conditions, such as a thyroid problem or a low metabolism, exercising to lose your tummy fat may not be as easy. In this case, tummy liposuction may be the answer for you.

Liposuction is the #1 cosmetic surgery performed in the United States. It's relatively safe, although along with any surgery, there are risks involved. Ultrasonic liposuction is extremely popular with patients, because it's a non-invasive surgery that doesn't require actual surgery. However, ultrasonic liposuction is not a great way to lose large amounts of fat. Ultrasonic liposuction delivers ultrasound energy to the tummy area, destroying fat cells in the process. No anaesthesia is required, and you won't have to miss months off work in order to recover. The downside is that it is incapable of destroying large amounts of fat cells, and the patient will either have to go in for multiple sessions, or will have to resort to more traditional liposuction surgeries.
Tummy liposuction can have a detrimental effect to your body. It's important that you choose your doctor carefully before you consider tummy liposuction, since this can greatly increase your chances of a successful surgery without side effects. It's also important to remember that price isn't everything. A low cost surgeon may be covering for the fact that they have minimal experience in the field. With some things you can look for bargains, but in the case of surgery, you should choose the most qualified surgeon available.
Tummy liposuction surgery is basically the removal of fat using a cannulae, and the smaller the cannulae, the better. If you have large deposits of fat, you may have to undergo multiple liposuction surgeries in order to get the results you want.
Possible side effects
Irregularities of the skin
Scarring
Excessive bleeding
Swelling
Bruising
Soreness
Blood clots
Infection
Allergic reaction to the anesthetic
While the above list may seem large, tummy liposuction is relatively safe. In most cases, bruising, swelling and soreness diminish and fade over several months.
Tummy liposuction isn't the answer to everything. Once you've had the surgery, you will have to regulate your diet and exercise on a regular basis in order to maintain your results.

Tips on How to Take a Sauna

With the recent popularity of far infrared saunas and steam saunas comes the necessity of learning to use them properly and safely. Listed below are the traditional steps the Finns would take in order to benefit fully from their cleansing saunas. And the Finns should know, as roughly one in five inhabitants possesses a sauna.
It should be stated that one should consult their health care practitioner before embarking on any kind of sauna program, though it's interesting that sauna usage doesn't seem to harm the five million plus Finns and many others who know how to take a sauna correctly.

How to Take a Sauna - Traditional Finnish Style
1. First of all one should disrobe completely before entering. It is also important to remove watches, rings and all other jewelry because the heat of the sauna may distort the metal and burn the flesh that wears it.
Contact lenses and glasses should also be removed, as should dental plates and the like. It is common to wear kick-off sandals to walk into the sauna though these are usually left on the floor and never used when on the benches. In the old country, sandals were not used, but instead a bowel of water is placed inside the sauna on the floor and the feet are dipped in this as one enters.
2. Hikoilu - When entering the sauna for the first stage, it is important to remember that there will be at least two levels of benches - the high bench is always the hotter, and the corner of the room diagonally opposite the stove is always the hottest.
This stage is a dry heat where the outside cares of your life can be discarded and the mind and body refreshed. By tradition hikoilu is invariably a period of silence and lasts about 10 to 20 minutes.
3. Vilvoittelu - When a heavy sweat has been reached - one can hear the perspiration dripping down to the floor - this next phase of "vilvoittelu" has been reached and one can then leave the sauna. Traditionally users have sought a cool place of any kind like a swim in the lake or pool, maybe a cold shower, a roll in the snow, or just a bucket of very cold water. Some people simply sit down in the cool outside air. Instinct will tell you when the correct time comes to return to the hot room, usually when the heartbeat returns to the regular rhythm. Both the heat and the cold produce a slight increase in the rate of the heart beat, but this adjusts quickly to normal in healthy people. If there is a pounding or feeling of faintness, the person must leave the heated room and sit quietly. Drinking water with electrolytes would prove helpful also as well as fresh fruit juice.
4. Vihtominen loylyssa - This is the second session inside the hot sauna room. Traditionally birch twigs were heated in a bowel of warm water near the stove and the bathers sitting on the benches would use them to beat their bodies back and front to release the oil from the leaves and to open the skin's pores.
Perhaps in modern situations, a dry skin brush would prove helpful before one's sauna session to open up the pores and remove dead skin cells. This third stage lasts about 10 minutes followed by a second cooling off before proceeding to the next step.
5. Peseytyminen - One brings a bucket of cold water, soap and scrubbing brushes into the sauna and scrubs the body. Traditionally, people would pair off to scrub each other's backs.
6. Huuhtelu - This is a longer session outside, rolling in the snow, a long swim or a washing with shower or buckets in the coldest water available.
7. Jalkilammittely - A fairly short warm up in the sauna which is usually followed by another short swim, dip or shower. Always finish with the cold, but not for a long exposure.
8. Jaahdyttely ja kuivattelu - This is an air bath for cooling and relaxation. Generally, except in harsh winters, one dries with a towel only the hair and back of the neck; after a good sauna the body can dry itself and adjust naturally to any temperatue without difficulties or harm.
The Finns really know how to take a sauna, you say? You may notice that a sauna is far from being another steam bath. The idea is that enough water is used to keep the hot, dry air from drying eyes and mucous membranes, but this depends upon the host. In Northern Finland, it was a social status symbol to be a man who could take a lot of hot steam and smile about it.

Yoga: Feel Good, Look Good

Yoga is a philosophy and spiritual practice derived from Hindu theism, its aim is to suppress all activities of the mind and body, and separate them from one another to achieve liberation. In simpler terms, Yoga makes people feel better while loosing weight. It improves the posture, breathing, etc.

Other than its physical effect, Yoga has proven to be a powerful tool in managing or controlling anxiety, back pain, blood pressure, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, headache, stress, and heart disease. Needless to say, it’s worth trying. Most people try Yoga to improve their muscle tone, stamina, flexibility, and strength; but some do it to reduce stress and tension, improve circulation, and lower fat. Whatever the reason, it leads to one ultimate goal and that is to improve their appearance.

Yoga is defined as “union” in the classical Indian language. Based on the principles of the original yogis; practicing Yoga helps a person to achieve true happiness, enlightenment, and liberation. It was designed to take away the negative factors that make people unhappy or grouchy in their every day lives. In effect, people are placed in a position to better manage their reactions, emotions, and responses when dealing with everyday stress and problems. The Following Are Basic Yoga Practices That Must Be Done On A Daily Basis:
1. Sun Salutations.People who are too busy to exercise can spend only a few minutes performing this ritual. It stimulates the muscles and joints. It is a series of 12 non-stop poses that go together with proper breathing. This may be done twice a day or more.
2. Breath Control. This is the most popular part of Yoga. It is done by sitting erect in the place chosen by the person for Yoga meditation alone. It is usually a place that is free from noise and preferably close to nature.
3. Meditation.Refers to mentally repeating ‘So” and “Ham” with every inhale and exhale respectively. It is one of the simplest practices in Yoga and works for everyone.4. Sun Salutation, Breath Control, And Meditation Combined.Combining these simple practices is great for beginners. This can be done for at least 3 minutes every morning or late afternoon. Doing this regularly can naturally expand the Yoga practices. Perhaps losing weight and attaining inner peace is the most sensible goal a person can achieve. It not only guarantees a positive aura and great appearance, it also offers psychological benefits that cause people to feel good about themselves.
